Suitable for straight tea and latte. Very smooth, no need for sweetener as this is on the creamy and sweeter side matcha with gentle umami, low astringency and almost no bitterness. This would be an easy pick, everyday matcha.

A must try Japanese green tea. First time having Gyokuro so I have nothing to compare this to. Initial brew following the instructions, I am transcended to the world of umami and understood it better than its presence in some matcha, it’s like drinking a broth with nori. I had fukamushi before but this tea is way more savory, has low astringency and almost no bitterness. Amazing to enjoy on special occasion but can easily become a staple.

Very good and strong earthy flavor. I was pleasantly surprised that I got the same effect that strong coffee has. This matcha was able to keep me going throughout the day at work.
This is my go-to matcha for a latte. If you’re thinking abt getting something more mainstream and expensive just to add syrups and milks to it, please don’t waste your money. This matcha perfectly does the job and is excellent quality for a fraction of the price.
HOSHINO – Mokuren is a high-quality steamed matcha that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys drinking matcha.
It can be prepared both as a clear (usucha) matcha and as a matcha latte. The taste is delicious, smooth, and mellow, offering great value for the price.

Love this matcha. I received a smaller tin as a gift and it was amazing. The color was very vibrant. The taste profile was nutty, slightly sweet, but consistent through the whole drink. I have paired it alone with only agave and some flavored syrups. I was very excited to find this brand in a larger tin as it is authentic and comes straight from Japan! :-)
Instructions were included in English which is very thoughtful of the shop! Mesh is finer than regular matcha sieves and works better in my opinion. Container feels nearly airtight and is well made!

This is my absolute favorite matcha I have bought.I wish the price didn't rise so much. I bought this a year ago, and it was $25 USD minus shipping.Other than that, the flavor is amazing! The bitterness translates really well into occasional lattes.

I just finished up my 100g pack on Taisya matcha! It lasted me ~3 weeks as I make matcha lattes frequently. I prefer this version of Izumo and it is very similar Kami-Watashi and Kagura at a better price point.This is a great affordable and beginner matcha that is good in lattes. I would recommend buying a few packs as shipping is pricey especially to the eastern US.This matcha is smooth but still has a distinct matcha flavor. The color is beautiful. The photo attached uses 2% milk and I find it preferable to oatmilk for this brand of matcha.
