MEIYO MATCHA
“OKABE-NO-HANA”
MEIYO’s best-value ceremonial matcha from Shizuoka — beginner-friendly and latte-friendly, with a gentle sweetness and a small pleasant bitterness that keeps the flavor present in milk.
Why you’ll love it
✓ Best value in the MEIYO lineup
The easiest entry point into MEIYO ceremonial matcha. Great for daily use without overthinking.
✓ Latte-friendly balance
A gentle sweetness plus a small bitterness keeps matcha flavor clear in milk, especially for iced lattes.
✓ Beginner-friendly daily ceremonial
Smooth and approachable as usucha, and easy to enjoy even if you are new to matcha.
✓ 20g can keeps it fresh
A practical size to enjoy while aroma and color are at their best — perfect for home, office, or travel.
Flavor profile
Okabe-no-Hana is designed for everyday drinkers — gentle sweetness, smooth body, and a touch of bitterness for structure. Ideal for lattes and daily usucha.
If you want more umami while staying latte-friendly, choose Aobane-no-Tsuki. If you want tea ceremony / koicha, choose Nyufune-no-Kaze.
Best for
Matcha lattes
Best-value choice for daily lattes, hot or iced.
Beginners
An easy start for ceremonial matcha with approachable balance.
Daily usucha
Smooth and calm bowl with a touch of structure from slight bitterness.
Office / travel
20g can is convenient and helps you finish while fresh.
How to prepare
Usucha (traditional)
Sift 2g. Add 60–80ml water at 70–80°C, whisk until frothy.
Latte (hot)
Sift 2–3g. Whisk with 30ml warm water, then add 150–200ml steamed milk (or oat milk).
Iced latte (easy)
Mix 2–3g with 30ml water, add ice + 150–200ml cold milk. Shake in a bottle for a café-style latte.
Note: Fine matcha particles can clump due to static. Sifting or using a shaker helps create a smoother latte.

Which MEIYO matcha should I choose?
Nyufune-no-Kaze
Tea-ceremony oriented. Can be used for koicha. Clean umami, very low bitterness.
Asahina-no-Yuki
Everyday ceremonial. Smooth, clean, latte-friendly, gentle sweetness and low bitterness.
Aobane-no-Tsuki
More umami than Okabe. Still easy for beginners, slightly bitter, and great for lattes.
Okabe-no-Hana
MEIYO’s best value. Beginner-friendly, latte-friendly, with a little bitterness for presence.
If you’re unsure: choose Asahina-no-Yuki for smooth daily + lattes, or Okabe-no-Hana for the best-value latte option.
