MEIYO MATCHA
“AOBANE-NO-TSUKI”
A beginner-friendly daily ceremonial matcha from Shizuoka — more umami than Okabe-no-Hana, gently balanced with a touch of pleasant bitterness. Great for smooth lattes and mindful usucha.
Why you’ll love it
✓ Gentle daily matcha with extra umami
Compared to Okabe-no-Hana, Aobane-no-Tsuki offers a little more depth — a smooth umami that feels satisfying but still easy.
✓ Latte-friendly with a clean finish
A balanced profile that blends well with milk. The slight bitterness keeps the flavor present even in iced lattes.
✓ Beginner-friendly, not overly intense
Smooth and approachable for first-time ceremonial matcha drinkers. Great as a “daily driver.”
✓ 20g can is ideal for freshness
Easy to finish while the color and aroma are at their best. Also perfect for travel or office use.
Flavor profile
Aobane-no-Tsuki is crafted for calm, everyday enjoyment — soft umami, delicate sweetness, and a small, pleasant bitterness that makes it work beautifully in lattes.
Quick guide: If you want the most budget-friendly latte matcha, choose Okabe-no-Hana. If you want a bit more umami while staying easy, choose Aobane-no-Tsuki.
Best for
Daily usucha
Smooth and calm, with just enough depth to feel satisfying.
Matcha lattes
Balanced flavor that stays present in milk, especially iced lattes.
Beginners
Approachable ceremonial matcha for your first daily routine.
Office / travel
Convenient 20g can size — easy to keep fresh and easy to carry.
How to prepare
Usucha (traditional)
Sift 2g. Add 60–80ml water at 70–80°C, whisk until frothy.
Latte (hot)
Sift 2–3g. Whisk with 30ml warm water, then add 150–200ml steamed milk (or oat milk).
Iced latte (easy)
Mix 2–3g with 30ml water, add ice + 150–200ml cold milk. Shake in a bottle for a café-style latte.
Note: Fine matcha particles can clump due to static. Sifting or using a shaker helps create a smoother latte.

Which MEIYO matcha should I choose?
Nyufune-no-Kaze
Tea-ceremony oriented. Can be used for koicha. Clean umami, very low bitterness.
Asahina-no-Yuki
Everyday ceremonial. Smooth, clean, latte-friendly, gentle sweetness and low bitterness.
Aobane-no-Tsuki
More umami than Okabe. Still easy for beginners, slightly bitter, and great for lattes.
Okabe-no-Hana
MEIYO’s best value. Beginner-friendly, latte-friendly, with a little bitterness for presence.
If you’re unsure: choose Asahina-no-Yuki for smooth daily + lattes, or Okabe-no-Hana for the best-value latte option.
