Regarding soft and hard water

💧 Soft Water vs. Hard Water – For Better Japanese Tea

Water hardness varies by region, and it plays a big role in how your tea tastes.
Japanese tea is best prepared with soft water, which enhances aroma, softens astringency, and brings out a rich, mellow flavor.

In contrast, using hard water may cause the tea to look cloudy or whitish and result in a flat or dull taste.

While Japan has naturally soft water, many places in Europe and North America use hard water.
To enjoy Japanese tea at its best, we recommend using soft water whenever possible.
